The Challenge
With trading cards alone commanding a 13.82 Billion dollar market per annum, you would think many markets would exist to accommodate and foster communities. This however is not the case, with the vast majority of communities and transactions existing on an unconnected network of outdated forums and social platforms.
Burdick asked Harding Scott to help them realise their ambition of providing an integrated platform that fulfilled both the community and transactional nature of this large and vibrant sub-culture.
“From the beginning they were able to dissect a conceptual idea, sketch wireframes and apply the development with exceptional speed, all within budget.”
— Ian, Founder
The Solution
Working closely with the client team and given our experience in e-commerce and community focused platforms Harding Scott designed an easy to use platform that would allow collectors from around the world to follow each other, showcasing their portfolio, whilst being able buy and sell their collectables.
The community is kept up to date with the latest news from every user with a twitter style news feed.
“Working with Rory and the Harding Scott team has been a great experience…the regular feedback and communication never hindered.. their professionalism on that front was top notch… will definitely continue to use the team with ongoing and future work”
— Ian, Founder
The Outcome
Harding Scott successfully helped Burdick to design, architect and engineer their new platform. On time and on budget.
The platform makes it easy for users users can display their collections, find new gems, and buy and sell their collectables. Users can follow and chat with other collectors and sellers, browse the catalogue, and update the community in a Twitter-style feed.
